To calculate your crypto portfolio value in USD: multiply each coin's balance by its current price, then sum them. Formula: Total USD = (BTC × BTC price) + (ETH × ETH price) + USDT. Example: 0.05 BTC at $95,000 + 1 ETH at $2,400 + $500 USDT = $7,650 USD total.

When to use this calculator

  • Check your total crypto portfolio value before deciding to buy, sell or hold
  • Track the USD and ARS value of your BTC, ETH and USDT holdings in one place
  • Calculate what your crypto is worth at a specific exchange rate (MEP/CCL)
  • Compare portfolio weight across Bitcoin, Ethereum and stablecoins
  • Plan a partial sale and see the remaining portfolio value

Worked example

  1. Portfolio: 0.05 BTC + 1 ETH + 500 USDT
  2. BTC value: 0.05 × $95,000 = $4,750
  3. ETH value: 1 × $2,400 = $2,400
  4. USDT value: 500 × $1 = $500
  5. Total: $7,650 USD
  6. At MEP rate 1,250: $9,562,500 ARS
Result: USD 7,650 / ARS 9,562,500

How to calculate your crypto portfolio value

The formula is straightforward: multiply each coin's balance by its current USD price, then add them up.

Total USD = (BTC balance × BTC price) + (ETH balance × ETH price) + USDT balance

Since USDT is a stablecoin pegged 1:1 to the dollar, its value in USD equals its quantity.

Converting to ARS (Argentine pesos)

To get the ARS equivalent, multiply the USD total by the MEP (Mercado Electrónico de Pagos) exchange rate:

ARS = Total USD × MEP rate

For example: $7,650 USD × 1,250 ARS/USD = $9,562,500 ARS.

The MEP rate is the legal parallel exchange rate used in Argentina for securities-based dollar purchases. It differs from the official rate and the CCL (Contado con Liquidación). Use the rate applicable to your situation.

Why use this calculator?

  • Multi-asset in one step: no need to calculate each coin separately and add manually

  • Stablecoin aware: USDT is treated as $1 = 1 USD automatically

  • ARS conversion included: relevant for Argentine investors comparing crypto value to peso savings

  • Portfolio weight chart: the doughnut chart shows which coin dominates your portfolio
  • Key definitions

  • BTC (Bitcoin): the original and largest cryptocurrency by market cap

  • ETH (Ethereum): the second-largest crypto, base layer for DeFi and smart contracts

  • USDT (Tether): a stablecoin pegged to $1 USD, used to hold value without converting to fiat

  • MEP rate: Argentine legal exchange rate for dollar-denominated bonds; typically higher than the official rate

  • Portfolio weight: the percentage of your total portfolio held in each asset
  • Frequently asked questions

How do I calculate the total value of a mixed crypto portfolio in USD?

    Multiply each coin's balance by its current USD price, then add the results. For example: 0.1 BTC × $95,000 + 2 ETH × $2,400 + $1,000 USDT = $9,500 + $4,800 + $1,000 = $15,300 USD.

How much is 1 Bitcoin worth compared to Ethereum in 2026?

At mid-2026 reference prices, 1 BTC ≈ $95,000 USD and 1 ETH ≈ $2,400 USD. That means 1 BTC ≈ 39.6 ETH. Always check live prices on CoinGecko or your exchange before trading.

Does USDT always equal $1 USD in the calculation?

Yes. Tether (USDT) is a stablecoin pegged to 1:1 with the US dollar. In this calculator, 1 USDT = $1 USD. If the peg ever breaks (it has briefly in past market stress), adjust accordingly, but in normal conditions USDT = $1.

What MEP exchange rate should I use to convert crypto to Argentine pesos?

Use the MEP rate from your broker or exchange on the day you're calculating. In mid-2026, the MEP rate is roughly 1,200–1,300 ARS per USD. You can check it on sites like rava.com or check your brokerage app.

How do I know which coin dominates my portfolio?

Divide each coin's USD value by the total. Example: if your BTC is worth $4,750 out of $7,650 total, BTC represents 62% of your portfolio. This calculator shows this breakdown in the chart automatically.

Should I rebalance my portfolio if one coin grows too large?

Many investors set target allocations (e.g., 60% BTC / 30% ETH / 10% USDT) and rebalance when any asset deviates by more than 10-15%. Use this calculator to check your current weights before deciding.

Is crypto portfolio value calculation the same in every country?

The USD calculation is universal — it is just quantity × price. The local currency conversion differs by country. This calculator uses the Argentine MEP rate for ARS conversion, which is Argentina-specific.

Can I use this calculator for coins other than BTC, ETH and USDT?

This calculator covers the three most common assets (Bitcoin, Ethereum, Tether). For other altcoins (SOL, BNB, etc.), convert them manually: balance × current price, then add to the USD total here.

Do I need to report crypto portfolio gains on my Argentine taxes?

Yes. AFIP (Argentine tax authority) considers crypto assets taxable property. Both the peso equivalent at year-end and any gains from sales must be reported. Consult a contador for the exact treatment under current regulations.
